The Board is elected every year by the congregation
at the Annual Meeting. It consists of 5-7 members including the
President, Clerk and Treasurer. Committees The standing committees of the church include Buildings and Grounds, Fund Raising, Investments, Membership, Religious Education, Tower Clock Newsletter, Music and Choir, Flowers and Refreshments, Social Action, Nominating, Public Relations, Media Center, and Worship. Committees practice open membership and are where the congregation’s ministry is lodged. To join a committee, simply contact the chair to learn about meeting dates and to attend a meeting. Buildings and Grounds An extension of the Board of Trustees, the Building and Grounds Committee oversees activities and projects appropriate to maintain, repair and improve the Church's physical properties, including the general condition of the premises, and the routine care of the buildings and grounds. Chair, TBD Fundraising The fundraising Committee plans and coordinates a calendar of special events to raise funds for the operating budget of the church. Chair, Wendy Harty mweeh@sover.net Media Center Committee The Media Center Committee is working on the development of a center for media productions at Hastings House. Chair, Robert Watson robertcwatson@verizon.net Membership Supports the health and vitality of our congregation by providing current information about membership, congregational structure, and customary procedures to members and friends on an ongoing basis. Chair, Shea McGovern sheamc@vermontel.net Public Relations Committee The Public Relations Committee produces press releases and public service announcements, and coordinates contacts with the community.. Chair, Dorothy Read read@sover.net Refreshments and Flowers The Refreshments and Flowers Committee provides flowers for each Sunday services and coordinates refreshments afterwards. Our goals are to plan, approve, guide and support the program as it evolves. Chair, Bronwen Jones bron@sover.net Social Action The Social Action Committee is a group of concerned members of the church who educate and act on issues of social responsibility. We also support both our partner church in Transylvania and, through the Keene/Walpole Joint Committee, the Tibetan families settled in Keene. We rotate the position of chair at our meetings held monthly. Additional projects include Heifer International Project, UUSC Coffee Project, and WUC Green Sanctuary Project.
